The InviMag SalivaGene DNA Kit/ KF96 allows for rapid and economical purification of genomic, mitochondrial and bacterial DNA from SalivaGene stabilized saliva and swab samples using magnetic beads. The InviMag SalivaGene DNA Kit/ KF96 has been designed for semi-automated preparation on the KingFisher 96 and Flex 96 workstations. Up to 96 samples in parallel can be processed.

Overview

The kit has been designed for the isolation of DNA from host organisms as well as for isolation of DNA from pathogen microorganisms. The system consists of four modules, three collection sets and one extraction module, useable independently or in combination. The purified high quality DNA is ready to use for subsequent downstream applications or can be stored at –20 °C for subsequent use:

• PCR applications
• hybridization
• genetic typing
• pathogen typing
• mutation analysis

The SalivaGene system combines the use of prefilled SalivaGene Collection Container or Transport Tubes for saliva or swab sample collection, the storage and stabilization of saliva or swab specimen without any degradation of the DNA during transportation. The SalivaGene system further realizes the prelysis of bacteria and a very efficient and fast isolation of high-quality total DNA from up to 500 µl of the sample. Samples do not require special handling or storage because the DNA is stable for at least 6 weeks at ambient temperatures in the special DNA stabilizer solution.
