Prepared by enzymatic digestion of selected fresh lean meat obtained from healthy animals. Used in general purpose culture media for routine cultivation of a variety of microorganisms and as well in large scale cultivation of microorganisms used for antibiotic, enzyme and vitamin production.
Free flowing powder. Soluble in distilled water, 1 % aqueous solution is clear, transparent, yellowish brown coloured after autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes.
