Peptone from vegetable II is an enzymatic hydrolysate of vegetable proteins and is recommended for cultivation of fastidious pathogens. It can successfully replace Proteose peptone.
It is highly nutritious and can be employed in culture media for bulk production of antibiotics, enzymes, veterinary preparations, bacterial toxins, etc. It is recommended for use in media that support good growth of a large number of microorganisms including Staphylococci, Pneumococci, Meningococci, Gonococci, among others which require a highly nutritious medium.
Free flowing powder. Soluble in distilled water. 1 % aqueous solution remains clear without haziness even after autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes.
